Car Vinyl Wrap Service in Pune
A vinyl wrap is one of the most versatile things you can do to a car. You can change the colour completely, shift from gloss to matte, add a two-tone finish, or go for something completely custom. All without painting the car. When you want to go back to the original, the wrap comes off and the paint underneath is exactly as you left it.
Wrap quality comes down to two things: the film and the installation. A cheap film yellows, shrinks, and lifts at the edges within a year. A good film from 3M, Avery, or KPMF stays flat, holds its colour, and comes off cleanly when the time comes. Installation done by an inexperienced hand leaves bubbles, stretch marks, poorly wrapped edges, and visible seams. Done by someone who knows what they are doing, a wrap looks like the car came out of the factory that way.
At Carbon and Chrome in Viman Nagar, we have been wrapping cars long enough to know where the tricky parts are on every common car body shape. We use professional-grade films and take the time to do edges, bumpers, and mirrors properly rather than rushing through them.
Features of Our Vinyl Wrap Service
01
Professional-Grade Films Only
We use 3M, Avery, and KPMF vinyl films. These are cast vinyl films, not calendered. Cast vinyl is thinner, more conformable, and holds its shape around curves and complex surfaces without lifting or shrinking. Cheaper calendered films are easier to work with but do not last and look worse on curved body panels. We do not use them.
04
Sensors and Cameras Stay Functional
Modern cars have parking sensors, cameras, lane assist sensors, and other technology built into the bumpers and body panels. Wrapping these areas incorrectly blocks the sensors and affects how they work. We work around sensors and camera lenses carefully, ensuring everything functions correctly after the wrap is done.
02
Full Colour Change Wraps
Want your white car matte black? Your silver car gloss blue? A full colour change wrap covers every painted panel on the car in the new colour or finish. The result should look like the car was manufactured that way. We match wrap panels carefully so colour and finish are consistent across the entire car.
05
Custom Designs and Graphics
Beyond solid colour change wraps, we do custom graphic work. Racing stripes, two-tone roof wraps, bonnet accents, and full custom print designs. Custom design work is discussed in detail before we start so you know exactly what the finished result will look like.
03
Safe Removal Process
A properly installed wrap using quality film comes off without damaging the paint underneath. The adhesive on professional-grade vinyl is designed to release cleanly. When you want to remove the wrap, either to go back to the original colour or apply a new wrap, the original paint should be unaffected. Poor quality films and incorrect installation can leave adhesive residue and cause paint damage on removal.
06
Partial Wraps Available
You do not need to wrap the entire car to make a significant visual change. A matte black roof on a white car. Gloss black mirror caps. A contrasting bonnet. Partial wraps let you change specific elements of the car's appearance without committing to a full wrap cost. We can wrap any panel or area on the car individually.
Carbon and Chrome's Step-by-Step Process for Car Vinyl Wrap Installation
01
Step 1 — Understanding What You Want
We start by understanding what you want the car to look like when the job is done. Colour, finish, partial or full wrap, any custom elements. We show you physical film samples where possible so you can see and feel the finish before committing. What looks good on a screen and what looks good on a car are not always the same thing.
04
Step 4 — Design Confirmation
For custom designs, colour-change wraps, or two-tone work, we confirm the design with you before cutting or applying any film. This includes panel layout, seam placement, and how the wrap will look on curved surfaces. Changes are easier to make at this stage than after installation has started.
07
Step 7 — Edge and Detail Work
Edges are the first place a wrap fails if they are not done properly. We wrap film over door edges, boot lips, and panel edges rather than cutting at the edge. Where wrapping over is not possible, edges are heat sealed to prevent lifting. Door handles, badges, and trim pieces that are removed before wrapping are reinstalled after the film is applied.
02
Step 2 — Surface Preparation
The car is washed thoroughly and decontaminated before wrapping begins. Vinyl does not stick properly to a contaminated surface. Embedded dirt, tar, or wax residue under the film causes lifting and bubbling down the line. We clean the car properly before any film goes on, including panel edges and gaps where contamination collects.
05
Step 5 — Precise Measurements and Cutting
We measure each panel accurately and cut the film sections before application. Accurate cutting reduces material waste and means the wrap fits the panel correctly from the start. Trying to trim excessive film after it is on the car leads to uneven edges and inconsistent seam lines.
08
Step 8 — Post-Heat Treatment
After the full car is wrapped, we go over the entire surface with a heat gun to activate the film's memory and ensure it has conformed fully to the panel shape. This is particularly important on curved areas and around complex surfaces. Skipping this step leads to lifting on curved panels within a few months.
03
Step 3 — Paint Condition Check
We check the paint condition before wrapping. If there are areas where the paint is flaking, cracking, or poorly adhered, the wrap film can pull the paint off on removal. We flag these areas before starting so you know what the risks are on your specific car.
06
Step 6 — Vinyl Application
Film goes on panel by panel using heat guns and squeegees to stretch the vinyl around curves and press it flat without bubbles. Bumpers, mirrors, door handles, and other complex shapes are wrapped individually. This is the most time-consuming part of the job and the part where rushing produces the worst results.
09
Step 9 — Full Inspection
We inspect the entire wrap under bright lighting before the car is handed back. We check for bubbles, lifted edges, uneven seams, and any areas where the film has not conformed properly to the surface. Any issues found during inspection are addressed before you see the car.
10
Step 10 — Care Instructions Walkthrough
Before you collect the car, we go through how to maintain the wrap. How to wash it, what products to use and avoid, how to handle bird droppings and sap before they damage the film, and what to do if a section lifts. A vinyl wrap that is looked after correctly lasts significantly longer than one that is not.
Vinyl Wrap Finishes Available
Gloss
The most popular finish for colour change wraps. Gloss vinyl gives a deep, wet-look shine similar to a fresh paint job. Available in hundreds of colours. Works well on any car body style. Easier to maintain than matte.
Matte
Flat finish with no shine. Matte wraps look distinctive and are popular on darker colours like black, grey, and dark blue. Require more careful maintenance than gloss. Cannot be polished. Highly effective at hiding minor surface imperfections on the existing paint.
Satin
Between gloss and matte. A subtle sheen without the full mirror finish of gloss. Satin finishes are increasingly popular for premium and luxury vehicle wraps. They look sophisticated and age well compared to full matte finishes.
Chrome and Metallic
Custom Print
High-impact finishes for maximum visual effect. Chrome wraps are the most technically demanding to install because any imperfection in the surface underneath telegraphs through the film. We assess the paint condition carefully before recommending chrome on any car.
Fully custom printed designs including patterns, graphics, and imagery. Used for full liveries, racing-inspired designs, and brand wraps. Custom print work is quoted individually and requires a design file or design brief before production begins.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cost of vinyl wrapping a car in Pune?
Cost depends on the size of the car, how much of the car is being wrapped, the film brand and finish chosen, and whether any custom design work is involved. A partial wrap costs significantly less than a full body colour change. We quote after understanding what you want and measuring the car. WhatsApp us your car model and what you have in mind for a rough estimate before visiting.
How long does a car vinyl wrap last?
Quality cast vinyl films from 3M, Avery, and KPMF last 5 to 7 years with proper maintenance. Cars parked outdoors in direct sun fade faster than garaged cars. Matte finishes are slightly more prone to weathering than gloss. With regular cleaning and occasional vinyl dressing, a good wrap holds its appearance well within its warranty period.
Can I customise the design for my vinyl wrap?
Yes. You can choose from standard colours and finishes or go fully custom with graphics, patterns, or printed designs. For custom work, we discuss the design in detail before anything is produced. Colour-change wraps can be done in any colour available from the film manufacturer's range.
Is vinyl wrapping safe for my car's original paint?
Yes, when the right film is used and the installation and removal are done correctly. Professional-grade cast vinyl adhesive is designed to release cleanly without damaging the paint underneath. Cheap films and incorrect removal are what cause paint damage. We use quality films and handle removal correctly when the time comes.
How do I maintain a vinyl-wrapped car?
Hand wash only using pH-neutral car shampoo. No automatic car washes with spinning brushes. Avoid high-pressure jets directly on wrap edges. Bird droppings and tree sap should be cleaned off quickly as they can stain wrap film, especially matte finishes. Do not use wax or polish on matte or satin wraps. We go through the full maintenance routine with you when you collect the car.
How long does a full body vinyl wrap take?
A full body colour change wrap on a standard sedan takes 3 to 5 days depending on the finish chosen and the complexity of the car's body. SUVs and larger vehicles take longer. Partial wraps take 1 to 2 days. Custom print work takes additional time for design production before installation begins.
Can the vinyl wrap be removed later?
Yes. That is one of the main reasons people choose wrapping over painting. When you want to change the colour again or go back to the original, the wrap is removed. Using quality film and having it removed by a trained installer ensures the paint underneath is unaffected. We handle wrap removal at our studio.
What is the difference between vinyl wrap and a paint job?
A paint job permanently changes the car's colour and affects resale value if done poorly or in a non-standard colour. A vinyl wrap is fully reversible, costs less than a quality respray, and can be changed when you want a new look. A paint job offers more durability and no risk of edge lifting over time. For temporary colour changes and custom looks, wrapping is better. For permanent colour changes on older cars, painting makes more sense.
Do you wrap luxury cars?
Yes. BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, and other luxury vehicles. These cars often have more complex body lines and panel shapes that require more time and skill to wrap correctly. We take the additional time these cars require rather than rushing through complex areas.
Can I see the film samples before deciding?
Yes. We have physical samples of our available films and finishes at the studio. Colours look different on a small sample versus a full car, but seeing and feeling the material helps you decide between finishes. We recommend visiting the studio before committing to a full body wrap so you can see the options in person.
